I bought the e-book off the Annie Catalog on the Sweetheart Afghan and read through all your blogs and I still can not figure out the pattern to do the hearts on the afghan.
Is this pattern correct? I can’t get Row 5 at all and I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. It shows in picture there’s 2 fptr but according to pattern there’s 1 at the beginning of row? So I did 2 at the beginning and I figured out the heart part but the circle that is next to the heart is way too big compared to yours on the picture. What am I doing wrong? Could you please email me the correct pattern of how it goes and then maybe I can get it right. I have spent 4 days working on this and I can’t get it. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out. I want to crochet this afghan for my niece for her wedding. I paid 8.95 for this e-book on Annie’s Catalog.
P.S. I know this is an old pattern from back in 2009. I have tried searching web to see if I can get the correct pattern and I can’t.
I’m sorry. I had to edit your message. It is illegal to copy an entire pattern on the internet like that. The pattern is correct. It looks like you’re having trouble with placement of the post stitches. There is only one at the beginning because of the diagonal nature of the stitch pattern. Only one would fit properly. Then, there are two. Not knowing exactly what problem you are having, I’ll start with the basics. Are you trying to get the hearts to show right side up? If so, that could be your issue. In the notes, you will see that the afghan is worked in the opposite direction and the hearts are actually upside down when you stitch them.
O.k. I’m so so sorry for copy the pattern…I didn’t know you weren’t to do that. Anyway, I will try the pattern again. If I have any problems could I ask you for help? Thank you!
I hope you can help me….I bought 4 medium weight yarns and realized on pattern of the Sweetheart Reversible Afghan says Worsted yarns. Will the medium 4 weight work for this pattern too? Should I go smaller size of crochet needle or use the size I crochet needle. Thank you so much for helping me out!
I’m sure it will be fine. As for the hook size, you’ll need to see what hook gives you gauge. If you stitch tightly, for example, you may not like the stiffness of the blanket. Just experiment with it and see how it works out for you and how close to gauge you are.
